Getting around Rwanda
- Matatus & Buses: Minibuses known as matatus and larger buses are common in towns and cities. They are cheap but can be crowded.
- Taxis & Ride-Hailing: Widely available in major cities like Nairobi and Mombasa. Ride-hailing apps such as Uber, Bolt, and Little Cab offer safer options.
- Car Rental: A good option for independent travelers. A 4×4 is highly recommended for national parks and rural areas.
- Domestic Flights: Kenya has a strong network of local flights connecting Nairobi with safari destinations like Maasai Mara, Amboseli, and the coast.
